Armenia “a key pillar” in European Union’s relationship with the South Caucasus – Kaja Kallas
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas has described the first-ever summit between the European Union and Armenia as a “landmark diplomatic moment,” thanking Armenia for hosting the meeting in Yerevan.
In a post published on X following the summit, Kallas said Armenia is “a key pillar” in the European Union’s relationship with the South Caucasus region.
She noted that during the summit, the sides agreed to deepen cooperation in several areas, including trade, energy, and digital connectivity.
“The EU will support the Armenian people in choosing their own destiny,” Kallas wrote, adding that Brussels plans to launch a new EU mission aimed at countering foreign interference and strengthening resilience in Armenia.
