Gasoline prices hit record high in the US

 

The average price of gasoline in the United States has reached $4.15 per gallon, which is about $1.10 per liter. 

Despite the increase in prices, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright believes that prices may decrease in the near future.
 
"If you have to guess, it is likely that prices will go down, not up," Wright told CNN.
 
The increase in fuel prices is taking place against the backdrop of the war with Iran and disruptions in oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. A year ago, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States was about $3.20.
 
According to Wright, futures market data show that the price of gasoline delivered about two months from now is more than 30 cents lower than the current level.
 
The rise in gasoline prices is also putting additional pressure on the Donald Trump administration ahead of the midterm elections in November.
