The Armenian government has approved a procedure to provide compensation for airfare expenses incurred by citizens returning to Armenia due to the security situation and military developments in the Middle East.
According to the decision, Armenian citizens whose direct or transit flights to Armenia were canceled as a result of the situation, and who subsequently purchased new tickets or made paid changes to existing bookings, will be eligible for compensation of up to 250,000 drams per person.
If the cost of a newly purchased ticket is less than 250,000 drams, the compensation will be provided in the amount actually paid.
The policy also applies to Armenian citizens who had traveled to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Israel for educational purposes and returned to Armenia between February 28 and March 25, 2026, due to security concerns.
To receive compensation, eligible individuals must submit an application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the unified electronic platform (e-request.am), attaching the required supporting documents.
