PM Pashinyan chairs meeting on tax policy reforms
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a consultation focused on ongoing efforts to reform tax policy procedures, with particular attention to improving tax administration and legislative frameworks.
Opening the meeting, Pashinyan noted that the discussion follows a recent Cabinet session addressing proposed revisions to the thresholds for criminal liability in cases of tax evasion. He emphasized that the earlier discussion had highlighted the need to refine the proposed legislative changes, and instructed relevant bodies to continue work in that direction.
Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Eduard Hakobyan presented the results of analytical work carried out so far, outlining details of proposed new procedures aimed at enhancing tax administration and supporting the development of the tax system. He also touched upon reforms related to the concept of the “compliant taxpayer” institution.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of ensuring consistent improvement and refinement of tax policy, stressing that effective reforms are key to strengthening governance and economic development.
