Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by European Union Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos to discuss the growing partnership between Armenia and the EU, as well as key regional and reform-related issues.
Welcoming Commissioner Kos to Armenia, Prime Minister Pashinyan said the visit presents a valuable opportunity to review the “rich and steadily expanding” Armenia–EU cooperation agenda. He noted that the discussions would also provide insight into the Commissioner’s assessment of bilateral processes and allow both sides to address issues of mutual interest.
Pashinyan reaffirmed the Armenian government’s commitment to continuing democratic reforms, strengthening the rule of law, and further developing institutional capacities.
Commissioner Kos thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and praised Armenia’s ongoing reform efforts, highlighting the political will demonstrated by the government. She emphasized that the European Union will continue to support Armenia’s reform agenda, as well as its civil society and independent media.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics, including progress in Armenia–EU cooperation, opportunities to expand economic and investment programs, and issues related to the visa liberalization process. The sides also exchanged views on regional developments and ongoing efforts to establish peace.
Kos underscored the EU’s full support for the Armenian government’s peace initiatives, while both parties stressed the importance of maintaining high-level dialogue and ensuring consistent efforts to deepen cooperation.
