Pashinyan discusses Armenia–EU ties with European Parliament President
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, during a visit to Strasbourg aimed at strengthening ties between Armenia and the European Union.
Before the meeting, an official welcoming ceremony was held for the Armenian prime minister. Pashinyan also signed the European Parliament’s Golden Book, a traditional record for distinguished visitors.
Metsola welcomed Pashinyan’s visit, noting that both the meeting and the prime minister’s address to the European Parliament provide an important opportunity to discuss the future development of Armenia–European Union relations, as well as the progress of democratic and institutional reforms in Armenia.
Pashinyan thanked Metsola for the invitation and reaffirmed the Armenian government’s commitment to steadily developing cooperation with the European Union. He also expressed appreciation for the EU’s continued support in advancing reforms in Armenia.
The two sides discussed a number of issues on the Armenia–EU cooperation agenda and also touched upon regional developments, highlighting the importance of efforts aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the region.
