No safety-related incidents have occurred during the operation of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant
On the first day of his working visit to France, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated
in the Second Nuclear Energy Summit. In his speech, the head of government
emphasized that the Armenian government has adopted a policy of considering nuclear
energy as a key factor in maintaining energy security.
Nikol Pashinyan added that Armenia has decided to adopt small modular reactor
technology.
Following the summit, a meeting was held between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the
President of France. The prospects for the development of nuclear energy were also
discussed by the Armenian Prime Minister during a meeting with Rafael Grossi, Director
General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
