J.D. Vance believes economic interdependence is important for maintaining peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan
US Vice President J.D. Vance believes that economic interdependence between the two countries is important for maintaining peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to "Armenpress" , J.D. Vance said this at a briefing with journalists at Zvartnots Airport.
He noted that the signing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8, 2025, through the efforts of the US President Donald Trump administration, is the first step towards establishing peace. “But part of preserving peace is what we are doing today to make sure that there is economic interdependence between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which is necessary to preserve the peace agreement,” Vance said, adding that he is optimistic about what has been achieved in that direction during his productive 24 hours in Armenia.
The US Vice President emphasized that Donald Trump has indeed reached a serious peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and his administration is contributing to its preservation.
He added that he was happy to be in Armenia, from where he will depart for Azerbaijan.
