The United States Welcomes the Strengthening of Democracy in Armenia: Stuart Adams
Within the framework of a working visit to the U.S. state of Utah, the Ambassador of the
Republic of Armenia to the United States, Narek Mkrtchyan, was invited to attend the
inaugural session of the State Senate as an honorary guest.
Republican Senator Michael McKell introduced Ambassador Mkrtchyan to the members of the Senate. This was
reported by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United States.
In his introductory remarks, Senator McKell referred to the Washington Declaration of
August 8, 2025, highlighting it as a significant step toward strengthening regional peace.
Senator McKell placed particular emphasis on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s role in the
peace process, noting in this context the awarding of the 2026 “Zayed” Human Fraternity
Prize to the Prime Minister.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Senate President Stuart Adams highlighted the notable
progress achieved in the development of democracy in Armenia, emphasizing that the
United States welcomes the strengthening of democracy in Armenia and will continue to
support the spread of democratic values worldwide.
