The level of Lake Sevan has decreased by 16 cm compared to the beginning of January previous year
As of January 8, 2026, Lake Sevan stood at an elevation of 1,900 meters 22 centimeters
above sea level, which is 16 centimeters lower than the level recorded on the same day
last year. This is reported in a bulletin issued by the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring
Center” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Environment.
During the first eight days of 2026, 1 million 58 thousand cubic meters of water were
transferred to Lake Sevan via the Arpa–Sevan tunnel water conduit.
The rivers flowing into Lake Sevan are currently in their winter low-water period.
