Azerbaijani gasoline will be sold in Armenia at a price up to 90 drams lower: Papoyan (video)
In recent days, information has circulated in the media claiming that gasoline imported from Azerbaijan will be sold in Armenia as premium-class fuel at a price of 430 drams. Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, said this in a video posted on his Facebook page.
“Meanwhile, the market price of this type of gasoline previously averaged 500–520 drams. Thus, the newly imported fuel will be sold at a price up to 90 drams more affordable,” he noted.
Papoyan also said that during public discussions some citizens stated they do not intend to purchase this gasoline, regardless of its price. “Citizens are free in their choice and decide independently from which source and what type of fuel they use. The government’s main task is to ensure diversity in the market, establish uninterrupted supply routes, and exercise oversight over fuel quality and quantity so that consumers are not deceived. The state limits itself to supervisory and regulatory functions, while market choice remains at the discretion of citizens,” the minister added.
