Shirak Governor does not deny discussions were held regarding his possible dismissal
Shirak Governor Davit Arushanyan has commented on media reports concerning his possible dismissal. According to Armenpress, Arushanyan addressed the issue in a conversation with journalists.
Arushanyan assured that he has no concerns about losing his position and that he will accept any decision made by the Prime Minister or by the Board of the “Civil Contract” party. “At this moment, no decision has been made; that is, I continue to hold office. Discussions have taken place, there were individuals who, perhaps, wanted those publications to spread very quickly, presenting it as if I had already been dismissed.
I repeat: there were discussions, but there is no dismissal yet and I continue to hold my office, until the very last moment, I will continue to work and serve the region. I have no fear of losing a position or a chair; I have always viewed a position as a tool for being useful to the country, the region, or the city. For me, the greatest assessment is the assessment of the people: after the reports about my dismissal circulated, I received many calls and expressions of concern,” the governor noted.
Arushanyan also reported that his name has already been approved by the party board for inclusion on the proportional list for the 2026 parliamentary elections.
A press conference by Shirak Governor Davit Arushanyan was to be held on December 18, during which he planned to summarize the ending year 2025, however, in the morning of the same day, the governor’s office press service announced that the press conference was being postponed due to urgent matters. Following this, media reports circulated claiming that Shirak Governor Davit Arushanyan would be relieved of his position.
