EU and Turkey to intensify work to support a peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku
The EU and Turkey will work more intensively to support a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to Armenpress, this was stated by EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
“Turkey is a key partner for stability in the South Caucasus, the Mediterranean region and the Black Sea region. Together with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, we will continue our positive agenda for EU-Turkey relations. We will intensify work to support a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” she wrote on X after meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan.
Earlier in Brussels, during a meeting with Armenian journalists, when asked whether she believes peace can be established between Armenia and Azerbaijan given Baku’s rhetoric, Kos said that she does believe a final peace between the two countries is possible.
