To partially compensate the gas, electricity and water bills of residents in border villages, 112 million drams have been allocated
At its November 27 sitting, the government decided to allocate 112 million 603 thousand drams to partially compensate the tariffs for electricity and natural gas consumed by residents-subscribers of border communities of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the price of irrigation water used by water users and to reimburse property tax.
The explanatory note states that 988 million 933 thousand drams have been allocated in the 2025 state budget of Armenia as support to border communities, while in 2024 the actual expenditure for this measure amounted to 1 billion 47 million 743 thousand drams, that means about 58.8 million drams more than the amount allocated for 2025.
The analysis of the actual expenditures shows that the remaining funds will not be sufficient to ensure the full implementation of the measure.
In particular, according to preliminary estimates, it is necessary to allocate by the end of the year:
- 4,500.0 thousand drams to the staff of the Governor of Ararat Region,
- 8,000.0 thousand drams to the staff of the Governor of Gegharkunik Region,
- 26,305.0 thousand drams to the staff of the Governor of Syunik Region,
- 9,044.2 thousand drams to the staff of the Governor of Vayots Dzor Region,
- 47,000.0 thousand drams to the staff of the Governor of Tavush Region,
- 17,753.8 thousand drams to the Water Committee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia.
As a result 112 million 603 thousand drams are needed to ensure the full implementation of the measure.
