Negotiations on signing an Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement continue; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Negotiations on signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan are ongoing, but there is no clear timeframe for the signing of the agreement yet. According to Armenpress, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mnakatsakan Safaryan stated this in a briefing with journalists. The deputy minister noted that the contacts between the sides are continuous.
Referring to the border delimitation process, the deputy minister said that it is being carried out at the level of the heads of the two countries’ delimitation commissions. “We always spread through statements, everything that is taking place in the process,” Safaryan said, emphasizing that the work has not stopped.
In response to a question from journalists on whether the delimitation will continue in Syunik, Safaryan replied that if there is any development, an announcement will definitely be made.
Answering a question about possible timeframes for signing the peace agreement, the deputy minister said that he cannot indicate any specific dates.
