Proceedings initiated over cases of giving and receiving electoral bribes; preventive measures selected against 5 persons
Five individuals have the procedural status of accused in criminal proceedings initiated in the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia in connection with cases of receiving, giving and mediating electoral bribes. Non-custodial preventive measures have been applied to them. This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Committee in response to an inquiry from NEWS.am.
It should be recalled that the day before, searches were carried out in the homes of members of the “Victory” alliance of the Vagharshapat community.
Representative of the alliance Hrant Avetisyan told NEWS.am that the searches were conducted in the homes of individuals nominated as candidates for the Council of Elders: “We are talking about 4 people, two from Echmiadzin and two from the Haytagh community.”
It is noted that searches were conducted in the apartments of alliance members Karen Gevorgyan, Armen Davtyan, Mayis Melkonyan and Tigran Gevorgyan.
In response, the Anti-Corruption Committee reported that other evidentiary and procedural actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings being investigated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.
