"I think we would all prefer the diplomatic option. The Washington administration does not exclude the possibility of military actions against Iran. But everything depends on what the Iranians will do and say.
I think we should avoid repeating the mistakes of the past," said Vance, referring to the large-scale military operations previously carried out by the US in the Middle East. "The fact that one president has failed in a military conflict does not mean that we can never engage in a military conflict again.
We have to be careful, and I think that US President Donald Trump is careful," the vice president insisted.
Vance added that now, as before, he remains "skeptical about military interventions in other countries."
