With this decision, an additional $25.1 million will become available to Armenia, bringing the total available funds under the program to approximately $50.2 million. The Armenian authorities continue to consider these funds as a reserve.
According to the IMF report, economic activity in Armenia remains high. Despite uncertainties stemming from the ongoing war in the Middle East and rising logistical costs, Armenia's GDP is projected to grow by about 5.25 percent in 2026.
The Fund positively assesses the program's progress and fiscal indicators, noting that a significant overfulfillment of budget revenues is expected.
The IMF welcomes the government's intention to save these additional funds and keep the budget deficit at 4.0 percent, and also urges continued structural reforms to diversify the economy and expand export markets.
