Armenian government allocates AMD 198.6 million for Public Radio modernization
The Armenian government has approved the allocation of AMD 198.6 million ($540,000) to the Public Radio of Armenia for the first phase of a major technical modernization and renovation project. According to the government’s decision, the funding will be used to carry out technical upgrades and renovation works aimed at improving the broadcaster’s infrastructure and operational capabilities.
The explanatory note accompanying the decision states that the last major modernization of Public Radio’s broadcasting and technical complex was carried out in 2004–2005. As a result, the company is now in need of comprehensive technical re-equipment, particularly through the introduction of modern digital technologies.
Under the project, existing equipment will be replaced with new and up-to-date systems. The upgrades are expected to significantly reduce broadcasting disruptions and improve the quality of audio recordings and audiovisual production.
In addition to the technical modernization, a number of renovation works will also be undertaken as part of the first phase of the project.
The government expects the initiative to enhance the reliability and quality of Public Radio’s services, ensuring that the broadcaster is better equipped to meet current technological standards and audience expectations.
