EU and Azerbaijan discussed energy, transport, and peace process with Armenia
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the European Union delegation led by Olof Skoog, Political Director of the European External Action Service and Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the EU, regional security issues, and the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Special attention was paid to cooperation in the fields of energy security, transport, and green energy. During the meeting, Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring Europe’s energy security was highlighted, and discussions were held on renewable energy projects, energy efficiency, and electricity exports.
The sides also addressed the development of transport corridors, negotiations on a new agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU, and the “Partnership Priorities” document.
