Head of the OSCE PA Observer Delegation to Visit Yerevan on May 22- 23
The Head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly observer delegation, Eurósima Pejović,
will visit Yerevan on May 22-23 as part of the preparatory work for observing Armenia’s
parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7. According to Armenpress, the information
was provided by the OSCE.
During the visit, she will hold meetings with representatives of state institutions, the
electoral administration, political parties and alliances, civil society organizations, media
representatives, as well as members of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and
Human Rights mission already deployed in Armenia.
According to the statement, the purpose of the visit is to gain an understanding of the pre-
election environment and the election preparation process.
It is also noted that Pejović will work together with Fara Karimi, who has been appointed
Special Coordinator of the OSCE short-term observer mission.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly observer mission will also cooperate with delegations
from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Parliament.
The statement further notes that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has extensive
experience in observing elections in Armenia and dispatched its first mission to the country
back in 1995.
More than 100 parliamentarians and staff members from over 30 countries across the
OSCE region are expected to participate in the observer mission.
