Yerevan begins preparations for COP17 Biodiversity Summit
Preparations are underway in Armenia’s capital for the upcoming 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, with a symbolic step already visible in the city center. The Armenian Ministry of Environment announced that the COP17 logo has been installed in central Yerevan, marking the country’s path toward hosting one of the most significant international environmental events.
Scheduled to take place in October, the summit will bring together delegations from countries around the world, along with representatives of international organizations and environmental experts. Yerevan is expected to become an important platform for global discussions on biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental policies.
According to the ministry, Armenia continues active preparations to ensure the conference is organized at a high level and to present the country with dignity on the international environmental agenda.
Hosting COP17 is expected to place Armenia at the center of global conversations on biodiversity protection and environmental cooperation.
