PM Pashinyan sues Strong Armenia leader Samvel Karapetyan over remarks
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has filed a lawsuit against Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the Strong Armenia party, over remarks made during a recent press conference, Armenpress reports. Pashinyan revealed the legal action while speaking with journalists today.
Karapetyan had claimed during one of his press briefings that, according to information he had received, “Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan brought hallucinogenic mushrooms from China and uses them before every public speech.”
Pashinyan said the lawsuit was filed specifically in response to that statement. “Is that a serious statement by a serious person? Think before you speak, or before you do anything at all,” Pashinyan said.
The prime minister criticized the remarks as irresponsible and questioned the seriousness of such allegations. Further details regarding the legal proceedings have not yet been made public.
