Armenia to host prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026 Wine competition

Armenia will host the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026 international wine tasting competition from May 19 to 23, 2026, according to a decision adopted by the Armenian government.

The decision envisages the reallocation of 684 million drams from the Ministry of Economy’s 2026 state budget to the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia to support the organization of the event.

Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan described the competition as one of the world’s largest and most prestigious wine contests, with a 30-year history and a unique format. He noted that the event will be held in the region for the first time, having previously taken place in countries including Portugal, Italy, Spain, Mexico and China.

The three-day competition will be hosted at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex and is expected to bring together around 400 wine experts from 65 countries, including 120 wine buyers, 200 journalists, bloggers, sommeliers and internationally recognized wine specialists.

Participants will evaluate around 8,000 wines from more than 60 countries.

The event will also include business meetings between wine buyers, distributors and Armenian wine producers, as well as visits to wine-producing regions, wineries and historical and cultural sites across Armenia.

The visits will feature cultural programs showcasing Armenian traditional cuisine, national music and folk celebrations.

In addition, media tours will be organized for around 30 journalists to promote extensive international coverage of Armenia through leading global media outlets.
