Armenian Genocide anniversary marked at Swedish Parliament

At the Swedish Riksdag, the Embassy of Armenia together with the Sweden-Armenia parliamentary friendship group held a solemn ceremony marking the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

In a moving ceremony featuring music by Komitas and a screening of the docudrama Map of Salvation, Ambassador Anna Aghadjanian, Members of Riksdag Björn Söder and Arin Karapet reflected on our shared responsibility to prevent future atrocities.

The Ambassador highlighted Armenia’s commitment to international genocide prevention and its ongoing efforts to build lasting regional peace through normalized relations with its neighbors.

The participants especially paid tribute to the courageous Nordic missionaries whose humanitarian legacy continues to inspire us today.
