RA NA delegation participates in Meeting of International Secretariat of Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy
The RA NA delegation led by the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan participated in the Meeting of the International Secretariat of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), which was held in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi from April 18-19. The deputies Hrachya Hakobyan and Hayk Tsirunyan were in the delegation.
The current issues regarding the activities of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy were discussed, as well as upcoming programme priorities were outlined. During the sitting, a statement was adopted on the devastating consequences of conflicts, the role of religions, and the position of the Europe on these issues. The priority of peace, mutual understanding and cooperation was emphasized.
Delegations from twelve countries participated in the meeting: Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Egypt, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Jordan, North Macedonia, Palestine, Romania, and Serbia.
