Flights of any type of general aviation prohibited in airspace of Republic of Armenia from May 3 to 5: statement
The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia announced on Wednesday that Armenian airspace will be closed for general aviation flights from May 3 to 5 for security reasons during the EU summit and other high-level events.
“Taking into account the large-scale events to be held in the Republic of Armenia from May 3 to May 5, 2026 (the 8th European Political Community Summit, the Armenia–EU Summit, and the Yerevan Dialogue), as well as the participation of a large number of foreign delegations in these events, we hereby inform that from May 3 to May 5, 2026, and due to security considerations, all flights of general aviation, including any type of civilian unmanned aerial vehicles, are prohibited in the airspace of the Republic of Armenia.
Thank you for your cooperation,” the statement said.
General aviation does not refer to scheduled commercial airline services.
