Number of conscripts has been increasing over past two years: Andranik Kocharyan
The number of conscripts has been increasing over the past two years, said Andranik Kocharyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly, during a parliamentary briefing, commenting on the reasons behind this trend.
“What is this due to? Some may say peace, perhaps, but also the fact that we have adopted laws that change the environment, and it is this environment that gives mothers the confidence that what existed within the army and continued before has now been stopped,” he said.
According to Andranik Kocharyan, the number of deaths in the army has also decreased, although problems remain, and solutions to these issues are discussed during closed sessions.
“Every day of peace, starting from legislation, must be used to implement a program that will elevate us in terms of security,” he said.
