Congratulatory message of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan, on the occasion of Kha b-Nisan, the Assyrian New Year
“Dear representatives of the Assyrian community in Armenia,
I warmly congratulate you on the occasion of Kha b-Nisan, the Assyrian New Year.
I wish that this beautiful spring holiday, symbolizing the rebirth of nature, brings peace, health, prosperity and happiness to your families. May it mark the beginning of new successes, achievements and the realization of plans for the Assyrian community in the Republic of Armenia.
I constantly emphasize that the protection of the rights of national minorities is one of the key priorities of my work, and in this context, I attach importance to guaranteeing the rights of people belonging to national minorities to preserve their national and ethnic identity as well as the traditions, religion, language and culture.
As the Human Rights Defender, I consider it a priority to unite all our efforts towards the effective protection and promotion of the rights of national minorities in Armenia. I am confident that only through joint efforts can we build a tolerant and united society where every individual can enjoy a dignified life and preserve their identity.
I consider it necessary to note that problems related to national minorities and recommendations aimed at addressing them have been included in the recent annual reports of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, with the aim of contributing to continuous reforms in the field.
Dear representatives of the Assyrian community in Armenia,
Happy Kha b-Nisan.
May this beautiful holiday, symbolizing love and new life, accompany you throughout the year.
With warm regards,
Ms. Anahit Manasyan
