Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister with the UN Tourism Secretary-General
On March 26, on the margins of the 7th Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership held in Andorra, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, the UN Tourism Secretary-General.
The interlocutors commended the cooperation established between Armenia and the UN Tourism, reiterating mutual willingness to further enhance it. The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of implementing capacity-building projects and initiatives with UN Tourism.
The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed his counterpart on the policy of the Government of Armenia aimed at fostering the tourism sector. The importance of developing cultural tourism and agro-tourism, along with the imperative to introduce innovative solutions, was emphasized.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the avenues of possible cooperation within the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, to be hosted by Armenia later this year.
