The swift release of detainees held in Baku will further strengthen peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan
“Our position regarding detainees and prisoners remains unchanged. I prefer not to speak about this loudly and publicly, but to work. When there is a result, the public is informed,” Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a parliamentary briefing, addressing the issue of the return of prisoners held in Baku, and the current stage of efforts.
“We welcome the release of the last four prisoners, and we are confident that the prompt release of all remaining detainees will further strengthen the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
We are working with Azerbaijan in this direction, and we are also primarily engaging with Azerbaijan’s partners on this matter. At this moment, there is no result. Again, this is an issue where there either is a result or there isn’t. We are working on it, and it cannot be removed from our agenda,” he said.
