Armenian PM, IAEA chief discuss small modular reactor technology
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, during his visit to Paris.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues related to the development of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
The sides also reviewed the current state of cooperation between Armenia and the International Atomic Energy Agency, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration in the fields of nuclear safety, technical cooperation, and expert support programs.
The discussion also touched upon ongoing projects in Armenia’s energy sector, the prospects for the development of nuclear energy, and the potential use of small modular reactor (SMR) technologies.
Both parties highlighted the importance of maintaining close cooperation to support Armenia’s efforts in developing a safe and sustainable nuclear energy sector.
