From April 1, the pensions of 623,353 beneficiaries will increase by 10,000 AMD or more, while the pensions of 39,594 beneficiaries will rise by around 8,500 AMD.
During the March 5 government session, Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs
Arsen Torosyan presented draft amendments to two government decisions, which will
result in pension increases for the overwhelming majority of pensioners starting April 1.
“Pensions for 623,353 people will increase by 10,000 AMD or more, while for the
remaining 39,594 people the increase will be about 8,500 AMD. These are mainly our
citizens receiving long-service military pensions, whose pensions already average around
95,000 AMD,” the minister said.
The minister informed that benefits for persons with disabilities will increase by exactly
10,000 AMD. Currently, allowances for citizens with first, second, and third-degree
disabilities, as well as those with profound, severe, and moderate functional limitations,
amount to 39,000 AMD, 37,500 AMD, and 36,000 AMD, these will increase to 49,000
AMD, 47,500 AMD, and 46,000 AMD.
In this context, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to working taxpayers in
Armenia, including both Armenian citizens and foreign nationals who live and work in the
country and pay taxes.
He also thanked partners within the public administration system who, according to the
prime minister, made it possible for Armenia’s economic growth in 2025 to exceed
forecasts, rising above the expected 5.1%.
“This is an extremely important decision in terms of capitalizing the results of our social
policy for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.
He added that the government is fulfilling the commitment it undertook in 2021, noting that
the minimum pension now exceeds the cost of the food basket, while the average pension
is higher than the cost of the consumer basket. He also emphasized that back payments
are part of this process as well.
