Trump Addressed Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace and U.S. Mediation Efforts in His Annual State of the Union Speech: Mkrtchyan
According to the U.S. Constitution, the President “shall from time to time give to the
Congress Information on the State of the Union.” Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia
to the United States, Narek Mkrtchyan, wrote on his social media page that he had the
honor of attending President Trump’s annual State of the Union Address at a joint session
of the U.S. Congress.
“The President’s speech lasted approximately 1 hour and 48 minutes, becoming the
longest such address in U.S. history.
The President spoke about economic achievements, foreign policy accomplishments,
national security, border protection and the reduction of illegal crossings, sectoral priorities,
ongoing initiatives, and future policy plans.
He also awarded state honors to Olympic champions and members of the armed forces in
recognition of their service to the nation.
During his speech, the President also referred to the established peace between Armenia
and Azerbaijan and to U.S. mediation efforts,” the post states.
