Drilling of the Second Tunnel Completed on the Kajaran-Agarak Road Section
The drilling of the second, 530 m (including portals) tunnel has been completed on the 32
km long north-south Kajaran-Agarak road section. This tunnel is currently undergoing
dimensional measurements and other work specified in the project. This was reported by
the Road Department.
It should be recalled that drilling of the first tunnel, measuring 455 meters in length
(including portals), was completed last year. The contractor is currently carrying out lining
concreting works there.
Construction of bridges and embankment works are also ongoing along the Kajaran-
Agarak road section.
The 32-kilometer Kajaran-Agarak road section is being built with financing from the
Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and
Development.
