EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos set to visit Armenia
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a delegation headed by Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood, to discuss key issues on the Armenia–European Union partnership agenda.
Also attending the meeting were Adrienn Király, Director for Eastern Neighborhood and Institution Building at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, and Vassilis Maragos, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.
The sides reviewed matters related to the implementation of the Armenia–EU Partnership Strategic Agenda, placing particular emphasis on the importance of the full and effective execution of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Grigoryan and Koopman also exchanged views on regional connectivity projects, including Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative. Discussions further touched upon joint work carried out under the Economic and Investment Plan.
In anticipation of the upcoming visit of EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and the Armenia–EU Summit, the parties agreed to continue efforts toward identifying new initiatives to deepen Armenia–EU cooperation.
