Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan held a meeting with Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission. Adrienn Király, Director for Neighbourhood East and Institution Building at the European Commission, and the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, also attended the meeting.
According to a readout by the Armenian government, the implementation of the Armenia–EU Strategic Agenda for Partnership was discussed at the meeting, with particular emphasis placed on the importance of the full implementation of CEPA.
Mher Grigoryan and Gert Jan Koopman also exchanged views on regional connectivity programs and touched upon the Crossroads of Peace initiative. The officials further discussed the joint work carried out under the Economic and Investment Plan.
“Ahead of the visit of EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and the Armenia–EU Summit, the parties agreed to continue efforts toward defining possible new initiatives within the framework of Armenia–EU cooperation,” the readout said.
The first Armenia–European Union summit will be held in Yerevan on May 5, 2026. The event will take place the day after the European Political Community Summit, which will also be held in Yerevan.
