The day when Armenian cargo will pass directly through Azerbaijani territory is not far off. Aliyev
Armenia has sent Azerbaijan a request regarding the provision of transit for cargo
shipments from Armenia to Russia, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in Davos.
“Thus, we have de facto, unilaterally opened the corridors. It is true that cargo
transportation is currently carried out through the territory of Georgia, but a day will come
when Armenian cargo will pass directly through Azerbaijan’s territory, and that day is not
far off,” he said.
According to Aliyev, both Baku and Yerevan “must demonstrate more clearly the results of
peaceful coexistence.” The Azerbaijani leader also addressed Armenian-Turkish relations,
saying that the normalization process is proceeding in parallel with the Armenian-
Azerbaijani one. “Of course, these processes will be completed simultaneously with the
establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia, as well as between
Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he added.
