The European Union is preparing to impose new sanctions on Iran
EU foreign ministers will discuss possible new sanctions against Iran at an official meeting to be held in Brussels on January 29, against the backdrop of protests taking place in the country, Politico reports, citing EU diplomats.
The publication notes that the European External Action Service (EEAS) is proposing to add around 31 individuals and entities linked to Iran to the sanctions lists.
It was previously reported that EU member states are discussing the possibility of adding Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to the list of “terrorist organizations.”
