What has been agreed is what has been put on paper and published overnight: Ararat Mirzoyan on the scope of implementing the TRIPP project
“I am in Washington, at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia. A few hours ago, we held
a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the delegation led by him. We
discussed the current dynamics in bilateral relations, ongoing initiatives, outlined several
new steps to be taken and spoke about our strategic partnership - upcoming visits,
meetings, and initiatives,”
“We focused extensively on implementing the Washington agreements of August 8, and in
particular we confirmed the framework for the implementation of TRIPP. This is an
extremely important document; it touches upon issues that are sensitive for society,
therefore, we considered it necessary to address this document live, to present it and in
some cases, to provide commentary,” Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at a press
conference regarding the Armenia-U.S. statement signed on TRIPP.
“Dear compatriots, you will recall that in the declaration adopted on August 8 by Nikol
Pashinyan, Aliyev and U.S. President Donald Trump, the principles of peace and the
unblocking of transport infrastructure in the South Caucasus were set out, along with
territorial integrity and sovereignty, and reciprocity was emphasized. It was also stated that
TRIPP - the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity - would be established.
Only five months have passed, and in negotiations with the American side we have
succeeded in addressing the terms and the format of establishment in much greater detail.
I consider this to be a significant and beneficial document and I assure you that, by and
large, this is precisely the document that is of interest to all of us. Subsequently, the other
foundational documents will contain the legal text; however, whatever is developed later
cannot deviate from the conditions that have already been agreed,” he noted.
Referring to the document, Mirzoyan emphasized that what has been agreed is what has
been put on paper and published overnight.
