Private business entities must clear snow from the areas adjacent to their premises every day: Avinyan
“I’m dissatisfied with the work done by the administrative districts,” Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said while speaking about snow-clearing operations in the capital.
“We haven’t made sufficient efforts to ensure that private business entities, who have an obligation to carry out snow-clearing in the area in front of their premises are informed about these duties. We have administrative districts that have not issued a single administrative fine under this article during this period,” the mayor explained.
He noted that, under the mandatory procedure set by the Yerevan Council of Elders, private business entities are required to ensure not only the daily removal of fallen snow from the adjacent public-use areas around their premises, but also the complete clearing after precipitation stops of asphalt-concrete and tiled sections of sidewalks from accumulated snow and ice.
Failure to comply with the procedure results in administrative liability measures. At the same time, the technical means and personnel of the Yerevan Municipality are continuously carrying out snow removal and salting and sanding of the streets, ensuring unhindered traffic in the capital and the safe movement of Yerevan residents.
