A CALL FOR VIGILANCE AND PRAYER

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin expresses its deep concern over the public outcry over the latest statement by ten bishops.

The Mother See calls on the Holy Fathers who have taken on the initiative of a high-risk gathering to act with vigilance. Responsibility must be shown to keep the people away from disastrous agitation, and actions must be taken exclusively through the Church’s canonical procedures. There is no need to exploit the people’s sacred feelings and sow discord among the pious children of the Church with a known false agenda, disrupting the peace and prayerful environment of the Armenian spiritual center.

The Mother See urges the faithful to remain calm and not to fall under the influence of such provocative statements. Dear people, let your steps toward the Mother See be expressed only through prayer, solidarity, and unity. The steadfastness of Holy Etchmiadzin is your loyalty to the homeland and to our Holy Church.
