The Government of Armenia is taking active steps to expand women’s involvement in the security sector: Armen Grigoryan
On November 28, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia Armen Grigoryan received a delegation led by Irene Fellini, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security. The Security Council reports this.
At the request of his interlocutor, the Secretary of the Security Council presented indicators regarding women involved in governance and decision-making processes in Armenia, emphasizing that the Government of Armenia is taking active steps to expand their involvement also in the security sector. Both sides emphasized the importance of women’s participation and having their voices heard in policy-making, negotiations, and security issues.
During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the bilateral Armenia–NATO cooperation agenda and ongoing programs.
