The Severe Consequences of Poverty
Civilized countries, countries with a healthy political elite are doing everything possible to reduce the number of poor people down to zero. And this aspiration is not an end in itself. The poor population is a convenient target for all kinds of evil forces. For the sake of quick money, a poor person is ready to do anything.
A poor person is also ready to take part in elections and vote in favor of this or that party or alliance for a certain amount of money. The former authorities of Armenia knew very well that their main support base was precisely the poor population. When election day came they would distribute a certain amount of money, people would vote for them and then through a mild increase in prices they would take that money back from the poor with high interest, at that.
